Details:

Join birding expert Rebecca Coulter as she leads a group walk through the Garden for a morning of watching and listening for a variety of birds. During this walk you may see several types of bird species that migrate to our region for the Winter. Our birders may see several types of sparrows, including the White-crowned, Golden-crowned, Fox, and the occasional White-throated sparrows. Other migrant species that may be spotted in the Garden this season include the Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Hermit Thrush, and Yellow-rumped and Townsend’s warblers. Both beginner and experienced birders will appreciate the diverse and beautiful birds that make their home around the Garden.

Although the Garden is dog-friendly, participants are asked to not bring their dog(s) to this class.

Pricing:

Garden Members: $20 per person

General Public: $35 per person

Registration is required.

Rebecca Coulter
 has been birding in the Santa Barbara region for over 20 years. She leads field trips and birding classes at the Museum of Natural History. She is head compiler for the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count in Santa Barbara and enjoys sharing Santa Barbara’s rich bird diversity and wide range of habitats with new birders. She is particularly interested in teaching how bird sounds can help build identification skills and enjoyment in the field.
