Details:
Our region’s cooler winter days and rainy season are the best time to establish California-native plants in your home garden, giving them time to grow and establish healthy roots before drier, warm days ahead.
To support you in creating thriving backyard habitats, the Garden is loading up our nursery once again. Before the last rains come, you’ll have access to a larger assortment of native plants – with tried-and-true cultivars and unique species from all over California.
All purchases support Santa Barbara Botanic Garden in our mission to conserve native plants and habitats for the health and well-being of people and the planet.
Please note, while the Garden is normally dog-friendly, only service animals will be allowed to attend this special Garden event – it’s going to be busy!
What you can expect:
- Reservations Required: To help us manage the flow of traffic in our parking lot and ensure no one is turned away, please reserve your spot. No admission or guest passes needed!
- Shop Time: Your reservation offers you one parking space and an hour to wander the Nursery. Please be kind and arrive on time.
- Shopping Carts: Wagons are available to help with transporting your new native plants to your vehicle. Help yourself or ask a volunteer for support.
- Nursery Staff: Staff and volunteers will be available to answer your questions and help you load plants into your car. Just find one of us and ask. (A huge thank you to our Garden volunteers for helping us better serve you. Give them a high-five when you see them!)
Registration is required. Each reservation is for one vehicle including all guests who arrive in that vehicle.
