Join us for our seasonal native plant maintenance class. As temperatures begin to warm and plants begin to bloom, there is always something to do in the native plant garden. From applying a fresh layer of mulch to sowing wildflower seed for summer blooms, spring is the perfect season for spending time in the garden. Join us for a morning of learning about the seasonality of native plant maintenance from Garden staff.

This is an introductory class in the Garden’s Horticulture Class schedule. Classes in the introductory track are meant for participants of all skill levels to experience the seasonality of the Garden and the beauty and joy that native plants provide.

Although the Garden is dog-friendly, participants are asked to not bring their dog(s) to this class.

Pricing:

$25 for Garden members, $40 for the general public. The registration fee includes admission to the Garden.

About the Instructor:

Stephanie Ranes is the current Grounds Manager at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden where she works with a team of nine Gardeners to help care and maintain our CA native plant collections. Previous to this position she started and operated a small landscape company locally working to help homeowners improve gardens and incorporate more CA natives and sustainable landscape practices. Born and raised in Southern California, she remains a lifelong enthusiast for the natural history of local ecosystems and is dedicated to helping preserve them.
