Santa Cruz Island Day Trip – Scorpion Ranch | Sold Out

Join instructor Steve Junak for an exciting day trip to Scorpion Ranch on Santa Cruz Island. Our group will depart from Ventura Harbor via Island Packers. After the boat docks at Scorpion Anchorage, we will explore some of the eastern end of Santa Cruz Island on foot. Steve will lead participants on easy to moderate walk while sharing his expert-level knowledge of island plants.

All ages are welcome, however participants must be in good physical condition. Additional information with directions to the harbor and travel preparation will be sent to registered guests via email.

Time and Location:

The group will meet at the Ventura Harbor at 8:15 am to prepare for the Island Packers boat to depart at 9:00 am. For the return trip the boat will depart from the island at 4:00pm to arrive at Ventura Harbor at approximately 5:00 pm. The boat trip will take approximately 1 hour each way.

About Steve Junak:

Steve Junak is the Garden’s Herbarium Curator emeritus, is an active researcher and expert on the flora of the islands of California and Baja California.  He holds an M.A. in botany, has led field trips for more than 25 years, and has co-authored several books on the Channel Islands. Look for Steve’s trips to the Channel Islands for unique botanical experiences.
