Join in this hand-on workshop to learn all about seed propagation of native plants. Learn all about the proper techniques and strategies for germinating seeds and growing your own native plants. Join Horticultural Educator, Alejandro Lemus, to practice sowing different species and go home with your own tray of freshly sown seed!
This is an Advanced class in the Garden’s Horticulture Class schedule. Classes in the advanced track are geared towards the native plant gardener interested in building upon their existing skillset. Classes in this track cover California native plant propagation, pruning techniques and strategies, and irrigation troubleshooting.
Although the Garden is dog-friendly, participants are asked to not bring their dog(s) to this class.

About the Instructor:
Alejandro Lemus was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has experience working in habitat restoration, horticulture and education. As the Garden’s Horticultural Educator, Alejandro develops and implements horticulture programming for professional landscapers and residential gardeners. Having spent many years working in propagation and retail nurseries, Alejandro is passionate about growing native plants for conservation and informing the public of the benefits and beauty of habitat gardening.
