Details:
Learn the basics of botanical watercolor painting in this fun two-day workshop. We’ll start with the basics of color and value and understand how supplies, mixing, brushes, and media factor in. Then we’ll create or prep botanical drawings and move on to coloring them, with lots of demonstrations, advice, and one-on-one instruction along the way. Beginners and accomplished artists are welcome. Join us to bring nature to life on the page.
This workshop will take place on March 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

About Linda Vorobik:
Linda Ann Vorobik, Ph.D. | Botanist, editor, and illustrator of numerous botanical publications — cherishes all three West Coast states as home. She currently resides on Lopez Island, Washington, and is affiliated with Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and with herbaria at University of California, Berkeley, and University of Washington. Linda earned a doctorate from the University of Oregon and has over 30 years of experience working in the natural world, including teaching, research, and illustration. She currently conducts field research and teaches in the Siskiyou Mountains and at other sites. She’s also the principal illustrator for many botanical guides, such as “A Flora of Santa Cruz Island” and “The Jepson Manual: Vascular Plants of California.”
