Details:

The Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council, in partnership with the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, is offering a series of workshops on fire-resilient landscaping. This half-day workshop focuses on maintaining gardens in high fire risk areas and is designed for landscape professionals. Participants will gain practical tools for communicating fire-resilient decision-making to clients, with an emphasis on effective plant maintenance techniques.

This workshop will be offered twice during the summer. While both sessions will cover similar core content, each will incorporate a seasonal focus.

Participants who successfully complete the course have the option to earn a Certificate of Completion from the Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council. Those who receive the certificate will be featured in the Council’s “Certified Provider Listing.”

This class will meet in the Library, and will be followed by a walk around the Garden.

It is highly recommended that participants wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and bring a hat and/or sunscreen and a water bottle.
