Santa Barbara Botanic Garden Raises a Glass to 100 Years at Annual Beer Garden Event   

Santa Barbara, Calif. – February 3, 2025 — Santa Barbara Botanic Garden invites the community to celebrate its centennial with The Beer Garden, the Garden’s signature fundraising event. The Beer Garden will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, during the Garden’s 100th birthday weekend. As the Garden’s primary annual fundraiser, every dollar raised supports core programs in environmental education, conservation and research, and native plant horticulture — helping protect California’s landscapes for generations to come. 

Set against the natural beauty of Mission Canyon, the Beer Garden is a curated tasting trail through the Garden’s 5.5 miles of scenic paths, where guests enjoy thoughtfully paired beer tastings from the region’s top breweries alongside bites from Santa Barbara’s favorite restaurants. Acoustic musical performances along the way create a relaxed, multisensory outdoor experience surrounded by California-native plants. 

“Celebrating the Beer Garden during the Garden’s centennial makes this year especially meaningful,” said Matt Kettmann and Sophia Taylor, co-chairs of the Beer Garden Event Committee. “It’s a joyful way to bring the community together in support of the Garden’s mission while raising a glass to the next century of conservation, education, and connection to native plants.”
