The climate and biodiversity crisis are deeply intertwined. To face one without consideration for the other is not viable. We must not only reduce and capture carbon and save water, we have to do it in a way that produces habitat and allows life to thrive. Working together with native plants, we can heal and repair past damage and support the entire web of life and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Starting on Earth Day, April 22, we are bringing to life exhibits throughout the Garden that demonstrate how native plants are a solution to both the climate and biodiversity crises. A walk through the garden will transform into an invitation to personally become a part of the solution. New interpretation highlights the latest science in three distinct sections of the Garden – the Water-wise Home Demo Garden, the Redwoods, and the Pollinator Garden. Guests will learn how native plants help reduce water use, mitigate the heat island effect, promote pollinators, and sequester carbon. You’ll leave with several actionable ways to implement these solutions at home so you can start creating a better tomorrow, today.
