Details:
Our region’s cooler winter days and rainy season are the best time to plant California natives. Getting them in the ground now gives them months to grow strong, deep roots before the warmer, drier months ahead.
Why choose native plants? They’re uniquely adapted to our climate, naturally water-wise, and provide food and shelter for pollinators, birds, and other local wildlife. Plus, they bring the beauty of California’s wild landscapes right into your backyard.
To help you create thriving habitats at home, the Garden is restocking our nursery for fall planting season. You’ll find a larger assortment than usual, with tried-and-true cultivars and unique species from across California.
Early sales are open exclusively to Garden members. All purchases support Santa Barbara Botanic Garden’s mission to conserve native plants and habitats for the health and well-being of people and the planet.
Please note: While the Garden is normally dog-friendly, only service animals will be allowed at this special event due to expected crowds.
