About the exhibit:

While the public garden is the most visible aspect of Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, we are a conservation and research organization at heart.  Just beyond our coastline, eight distinct islands serve as living laboratories where we work to better understand and protect the native plants that make California unique. This exhibition tells stories from the frontlines of the Garden’s ongoing conservation efforts on the Channel Islands.

Image: The San Clemente Island fox is one of the island’s top predators and the subject of a recent study by the Garden.  DNA analysis of fox scat has revealed the contents of its surprisingly omnivorous diet.
