Anacapa Island Day Trip

Instructor
Alejandro Lemus
Location
Anacapa Island
Date
July 15, 2025
Time
9:15AM - 5:30PM
Details:

Join us for a guided walking tour of Anacapa Island with the Garden’s Horticulture Educator Alejandro Lemus. We will travel via Island Packers boat across the channel where you may see a variety of aquatic wildlife on the way to the island.  The boat docks at the East End Landing Cove at the base of the high bluffs. We will climb a few rungs of ladder that leads to the dock, then climb the steps (157 of them!) to the island’s plateau-like terrain. While we are on the island we may see Northern Island Malva Rose, coastal gumplant, island deerweed, and sand-lettuce – examples of the flora that make our islands the California Galapagos.

Our group will meet at the Ventura Harbor at 9:15am to prepare for the Island Packers boat to depart at 10:00am. For the return trip the boat will depart from the island at 4:00pm to arrive at Ventura Harbor at approximately 5:30pm. The boat trip will take approximately 2-3 hours each way.

Additional information for directions to the harbor and preparation for the trip will be sent after guests register for this trip.
