Book a School Field Trip
Whether you’re coming for a guided field trip or want to utilize our living collections to enhance your own educational activity, there is something for every school here.
Guided School Tour Information
Guided school tours will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from the first week of October through the first week of June. Tours start at 10 AM. See the links below for information regarding tour content and length.
Pricing & Payment
We charge a flat fee for Guided School Tours based on the number of students in the class. This rate includes teachers and up to five chaperones. Self-Guided School Visits are charged per participant. Payment can be made by credit card via a secure payment link or by mailing a check. Invoices must be paid 30 days before your tour date. All invoices are final and cannot be adjusted.

Free Extensions
After your tour, teachers have the option to add one of two free extensions to enhance their field trip. Groups can enjoy snacks or engage in free play in the Garden while students rotate through the extension. Rotations last roughly 10-15 minutes. See below for more information about the specific extensions and timing.
Both extensions are led by Garden educators. Advance notice is required. Please indicate on your reservation request form whether you would like to add an extension to your visit.
Nano Nursery
Come to our Backcountry Nano Nursery and learn how to pot and take home a native plant! The type of plant varies depending on availability, ranging from sowing seeds to transplanting a small plant. Including travel time to and from the Backcountry, the entire experience takes roughly 45-60 minutes.
Plant Lab
Stop by the Garden’s Plant Lab to gain a new perspective on the natural world! Students are invited to view a variety of plant materials under a microscope and discover the wonders of nature up close. This activity takes place in the Garden’s classroom, located near the entrance. The entire experience takes roughly 30-45 minutes.
