Valerie Hoffman

Valerie Hoffman has been representing well-known global and domestic companies, universities, and health-care entities for more than four decades as a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, a law firm with over 900 attorneys and 18 offices internationally. Her legal practice focuses on employment issues including discrimination, pay equity, harassment, glass-ceiling issues, and diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. Valerie has extensive experience counseling senior leaders in best practices, defense, and risk and crisis management relating to these issues. She also receives national media coverage and is a popular speaker on these topics. Valerie founded the firm’s nationally prominent federal contract compliance practice, co-founded the firm’s People Analytics group, and was elected by her partners to management roles at Seyfarth. She is thrilled to be returning to Santa Barbara Botanic Garden’s Board of Trustees, having served previously on the board and as a former chair. She also serves on The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County’s Board of Trustees as well as the Los Padres Forest Association Board.
