Join the Garden for free walks through Elings Park and help us discover the biodiversity of the area. Learn about pollinators, birds, invasive plants, bugs, and more. You’ll also learn about our native plant restoration project at the Park.

Location:

Elings Park – 1298 Las Positas Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. The group will meet in the softball field’s parking lot. To access Elings Park site map using this link.

April 12 – José Flores & Matt Guilliams – Exploring the plants and bugs of Elings Park using iNaturalist

May 10 – Denise Knapp & Sarah Cusser – Introduction to the iNaturalist plants for pollinators project

June 14 – Dean Noble and Denise Knapp – The history and restoration of Elings Park

July 12 – Zach Phillips & Sarah Cusser – Flower visitors and other insect residents of Elings Park plants

August 9 – Zach Phillips & Denise Knapp – Fantastic flies and other bugs you didn’t know you love

September 13 – Scot Pipkin & Zach Phillips – Birds!

October 11 – Zach Phillips & José Flores – Spiders and other weird critters at Elings Park

November 8 – Annie Ayers & Sarah Cusser – The inside scoop on preparing pressed plant museum specimens – a show and tell experience

December 13 – Scot Pipkin & Zach Phillips – Birds!
