Neda Brehm

Neda is a habitat restoration technician who assists in various restoration projects across Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Neda Brehm is a habitat restoration technician for Santa Barbara Botanic Garden who assists in various restoration projects across Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, carries out seed collection efforts, assists in educational programming regarding restoration, and plays a supporting role in data collection and research efforts done by the Garden. She earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and Spanish language at the University of Oregon as well as a certificate of horticulture at University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to working at the Garden, Neda was a full-time horticulturalist and sales associate at the Theodore Payne Foundation where she gained knowledge of restoring habitats through planting natives. Her job experience prior to native plants consisted of working in the field of regenerative agriculture and education. 

Research interests: traditional ecological knowledge, natural history, botany, science communication, conservation seed banking, grassland ecology, fire ecology
